Sheer Beauty

A cat is beautiful at a distance - near-to he is
an inexhaustible matter for wonder: the
patterning of his eyes, the elaborations
of his ears, the beautiful precision of his
nostrils, the elaborate whorls of his face fur,
the elegance of his bones, the delicacy of his
sinews, the efficiency of his paws, the separate
aliveness of his tail. His mouth is incredibly
clean, incredibly pink.
His teeth are precision made. The roof is
rippled, his tongue rasped.
Everything he does is a perfection.
